Donor tiers

Trailing-twelve-month giving bands

Donor Tier is a trailing-twelve-month (TTM) giving band for the budget GivFlow is watching. It is not a discipleship label. A Lapsed tier means TTM giving went to $0 after they previously had a tier. That is not the same field as Donor Status = Lapsed.

These are the default bands. Each budget can use its own thresholds.

• Lapsed: $0 after they previously had a tier
• Tither 1: $0.01 to $200
• Tither 2: $200.01 to $1,000
• Tither 3: $1,000.01 to $5,000
• Tither 4: $5,000.01 to $10,000
• Tither 5: $10,000.01 or more

These bounds are GivFlow's band labels, not IRS terms.

GivFlow also stores Previous Donor Tier and Donor Tier Updated so you can see movement.

In GivFlow, Donors has a Teirs sub-tab (spelled that way in the product). Each budget also has a Tiers tab that shows where that budget's giving comes from, using the budget's own tier thresholds. See Budget analysis.

Adjust tier thresholds

1. In the left sidebar, click Budgets, and open the budget.
2. Click the Tiers tab.
3. At the bottom, click Adjust tier thresholds. This opens the budget's Settings tab, where you set the tier thresholds for that budget.
4. Open the tiers section of Settings and enter the Upper amount for Tither 1 through Tither 4. Each next tier starts just above the one before it, and Tither 5 is everything above Tither 4.
5. Generate a preview to see how donors would spread across the tiers, then click Save and confirm with Save / Update Tiers.

After you save, GivFlow reprocesses past tiers for that budget. Give it 5 to 10 minutes.
