Budget analysis

Budget analysis is the giving picture for one budget: pace, opportunities, and year-over-year. Open a budget from Budgets in the sidebar, or click Full analysis → on Dashboards → Budgets.

Open the budget

In the left sidebar, click Budgets.
Open the budget.
Use the left rail:

ANALYSIS — Overview, Opportunities, Compare, Tiers, Breakout
METRICS — Churn, Growth
SETTINGS — Notifications, Goals, Settings

A Share icon and a gear sit at the top right of the budget.

Overview

Overview shows KPI cards (Active Donor Units, New Donors, New Donor Retention), Active Donor Growth, and Donor Status Activity.

Active Donor Growth notes that active donors give at least 3 times at a rate of at least once per quarter.

Compare

On Compare:

Year stepper (for example 2026 with left/right arrows)
Monthly / Yearly
Cumulative / Monthly
Actual for this year vs last year
Insights (donations and donors)
No budget goal defined until amounts are added

The budgets dashboard is a shorter version of the same story: period This Month, Full analysis →, COMPARE TO Prev Period / Last Year, and Add Budget Amounts. Goals on the budget live under SETTINGS.
