Subscribe to a flow

Tip: Enabling flows will help you get those most out of GivFlow. They automatically put your data to work so you spend less time looking at dashboards and more time looking at outcomes.

Flows on All are templates. Subscribing creates an instance. If the card shows Uses Budgets, that instance is for the budget you pick — subscribe again for another budget. Cancel leaves nothing changed.

Why subscribe to the same flow for different budgets?

A new donor to the general budget should get a different message than someone who gave to a pledge campaign budget.

Review the emails on Edit Steps before you enable an instance. Paused means it is not emailing anyone.

Subscribe

  1. In the left sidebar, click Flows.
  2. Toggle All. The page title is Automations (/automations  ).
  3. Open the template card you want.

The modal title is Subscribe to {Flow Name}. Subtitle: We need some information before we can start this automation.

  1. Choose Sender * (required). Pick a signature card, or click + Add new sender signature (opens /settings/email  ).
  2. Set From Email. Help text: We'll send emails for this automation from this address.
  3. Set Reply Email. Help text: Replies from email automations will go to this address.
  4. If the card shows Uses Budgets, use Select Budget. Help text: This automation can apply to multiple budgets, and language might be different for each. Select the budget to apply this to here.
  5. Click Subscribe to create the instance, or Cancel to leave nothing changed.

Templates without Uses Budgets skip Select Budget. Those are one instance per organization.

After you have an instance, open Edit Steps and review the emails before you enable it. Instance tabs are Overview, Activity, and Edit Steps. See Review flow emails.
