Abandoned gifts

What this flow is for

Abandoned Gifts identifies donors who set up a recurring gift and forgot a payment method, never finished verifying the payment method, or tried a one-time gift that failed and never tried again.

It does not change how giving works in Planning Center. It is follow-up email so they can finish or retry.

This flow does not use Select Budget. One instance per church.

What you'll see

On Flows, click the Gift recovery tab. This flow's card says Starts when a one-time gift fails or a payment method isn't verified. Gift recovery flows are church-wide and not tied to a budget, so there is one instance per church.

If the card shows Not set up, click + Set up flow to open Subscribe to Abandoned Gifts. Choose Sender, From Email, and Reply Email. There is no Select Budget. See Subscribe a flow.

Once it is set up, the card shows Running or Paused and how many donors are in progress and completed. Click the card to open Overview, Activity, and Edit Steps. If the flow is Paused, it is not emailing anyone. Review the emails on Edit Steps before you turn it on.
