Add DNS records at Squarespace

If you used Google Domains, you now manage DNS in Squarespace. Google completed the migration on 10 July 2024. Log in at squarespace.com/login — use Continue with Google if you never set a Squarespace password. See About the Google Domains migration to Squarespace.

Copy Type, Name/Host, and Value from GivFlow View DNS (or the email GivFlow sent). Do not invent records.

Before you start

• You already have the GivFlow records.
• The domain is registered through Squarespace or connected with Nameserver Connect. If it is only DNS Connect, edit DNS at the other provider.

Add the records

1. Open the Domains dashboard and click the domain.
2. Click DNS in the side panel, then DNS Settings.
3. Scroll to Custom Records and click Add record.
4. Enter your password, or complete 2FA, then Continue.
5. Set Type to match GivFlow (TXT or CNAME).
6. Enter Name. Squarespace appends the domain. Use @  for the root. For a prefix, enter only the prefix.
7. Paste GivFlow Value into Text (TXT) or Data (CNAME).
8. Click Save. Repeat for each GivFlow row. Custom records default to a 4 hour TTL. Changes can take 24 to 48 hours.

Note: Do not use Add preset / Add Preset (Squarespace site, Google Workspace, Titan) for GivFlow records. A CNAME Name cannot be @ . Leave existing mail records in place, including any unique CNAME that ends in .googlehosted.com  from a Google Domains migration. Squarespace warns that extra quotes in Data / Text of an SPF record can break resolution — paste GivFlow Value as shown.

Return to GivFlow and click Check DNS.
